Where were you that morning?
Where were you that September morning 5 years ago? On September 11th 2001 was in Mr. James' grade 10 English, then in Mr. Howes' grade 10 Science class. Howes didn't let us listen to the radio or television, so I went home. No one really knew the extent of what was happening. No one really knew anything at all. I can remember the fear in my teachers and fellow students faces as we listened to the small FM radio. What do you remember from that morning? I'm interested to hear some more stories.
I had a chance to catch up on some blog readings tonight and came across two emotional articles written by two very influential web developers; Eric Meyer (who was outside NY that day) and Jeffrey Zeldman(who was there). Both paint such an emotionally moving picture. I can't help but feel for all of those involved that day.

I was in Mr. James class with you. I recall it being a very odd day.

I had science first that day, then when I got to English (I had English period B, you had it A) Mr James had the radio on and we listened intently before class. The first tower fell just before class started I think. Once class started, the radio was turned down and Mr. James taught. But then the second tower went down,we turned the radio back up. I'll never forget the fear in the reporters voice. My dad was in Chicago that day and he said they had evacuated the buildings that day. We had art in the afternoon and Mr. Butchart had the tv on in the art room but it wasn't very clear and it was difficult to make out any picture. But all in all, it was a very different day that will stick out in my mind for a very long time.
