Wanted. Last Name: Fisher. First Name: Gary

This past Friday I had an exceptional experience at a local bicycle retail/repair store King Street Cycles. From the moment I walked in the door they welcomed me and my questions. As I waited they replaced my cranks, rear brake pads, and some brake cable, all for a reasonable price considering I came in un-announced. I would recommend their services to anyone in the Waterloo area.

On an aside, have you ever noticed that everyone who comes into a bike shop is an expert? Not a literal expert, but they all talk smack. Everyone wants to look cool and be knowledgeable, but why there, and why to a bicycle repair man?

Bicycle Theft

Today my most valuable material asset was stolen. At the north entrance of the Psychology building (PAS to UW Students) the criminal used a pair of bolt to make short work of my lock, and off he went on my Gary Fisher Marlin. This was not an early morning/very late at night job. It was 4:00pm, on a school day, right in front of a well trafficed entrance.

They didn't just take my ride, they took a big part of me. My room looks empty now. My commuting time just increased by about 5 times. It was only a few years old, barely old enough to have experienced the world. All I have are some pictures and many many fond memories. You'll be missed, dear bicycle. You'll be missed. I'm furious.
