Haunted House and Burglers

Not only did my house fall vicitim to a break and enter, but we also seemed to have gotten a bit lucky. It turns out that another house not even a block from here was broken into and, when the tenants arrived home, was held at gunpoint! I read it in the newspaper a couple days ago. Kinda scary when you think about it.

This weekend I went to the Teeswater Haunted House! It was very professionally done, the best I've ever been to. There was this one part where they made a bridge with railings, and this big round cylinder that went all the way around the bridge, and rotated to make it seem like your whole world was spinning. I immediately started walking on a slant to the left thinking that I was falling or something. Thankfully I didnt fall over. That was so effective, worth ever penny of the two dollars it cost me.

A Very Liquid Layout

I've been tweaking my CSS a little bit today, trying to create a more liquid and flowing layout. So now, when you hold the Control (Ctrl) button on your keyboard and scroll your mouse wheel, or hold control and hit the plus or minus button the text will grow, the page will flow, and everything in the world will be okay. No Horizontal scrolling necessary.

Tech Spotlight

iAnywhere was recently featured in the Kitchener Waterloo Record "Tech Spotlight". It is a running series about the largest of the tech companies in the KW area that employ co-op students, like me! Now I was actually attending PHP Architects' PHP Works 3 day developer conference on the day that this photo was taken, but the students in the background are all people who I work with on a daily basis. If I dont work with them, then I likely play foosball with them in one of the many heated games that occur every lunch hour.

Tennis, why didn\'t I start earlier?

So today I played Tennis for the first time. Jason got me out to the courts in our back yard and we got a solid two hours in. I wish I had started earlier cause its awesome fun.

You may be thinking "where did all those other posts go?" well, they're not gone just moved to a new and better location. That way I have some space for non programming related topics here. Like Tennis.

Under Construction doesn\'t even begin to describe this place

I've finally bought a site and sadly deleted my blogspot blog (it was over a year old). In that time MySpace (shudder), MSN Spaces, Xanga all came and went. They're finished now. This is my new sandbox, one without the borders blogs place on you. Watch for new things to appear soon.

If your looking for direction on how to properly build a web page then follow this one as it is built. No short cuts, no browser hacks, no improper design will be seen here. Obviously CSS is going to play a heavy roll in the site's construction. I plan on being able to do a complete redesign without touching the markup. Right now things are all under the hood. Laying some CSS groundwork on which to build. Also trying to experiment with some different kinds of looks.

Keep a look out, things will be changing.
